iPad Converted into 3D Tool

A new version of the iPad’s eDrawings software will be launched boasting extended features. Indeed the 3D tool’s new edition was released online on iTunes by Solidworks. While up until now it had only been possible to consult Solidworks’ CAO, DXF and DWG files in addition to having access to Dropbox-type file storage services or being allowed to browse through the various configurations, enthusiasts are in for quite a surprise now as it is reported that the new 3D tool is to deliver a lot more features.

Thanks to eDrawings’ new Pro edition, iPad users will play an increasingly active part in the 3D world. Indeed, it is now possible to perform actual measurements of a 3D model as well as save and send related annotations. That being said, it is not possible to modify the model design in itself but we have yet to see if this will be in the pipeline as part of the 3D tool’s upcoming features in the medium term. Move over SketchBook, you will have to contend with Solidworks as a top rival now!
